No part of France operates under Sharia law: the country has a single secular legal system (laicite), and there are no zones or communities governed by Islamic law. The 25 percent figure is also wildly off for France's Muslim population itself. Pew Research Center estimated France was 8.8 percent Muslim (about 5.7 million people) as of mid-2016, the largest Muslim share in Western Europe but roughly a third of the claimed number, and Pew projects it would reach only 12.7 to 18 percent by 2050 depending on migration. The claim appears to conflate opinion polling on support for applying Sharia (a minority view among French Muslims) with people actually living under a parallel legal system, which does not exist in France.
