What the evidence says 01 / RECORD
Kanye West asserted that Bernie Sanders would have won the 2020 Democratic race. In the actual 2020 primary, Sanders led narrowly after early contests in Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada, but Joe Biden's decisive win in South Carolina on February 29, 2020, triggered rapid consolidation of moderate support and a dominant Super Tuesday performance for Biden. By March 11, 2020, Biden held a delegate lead that made Sanders' path steeply uphill, and on April 8, 2020, Sanders suspended his campaign, telling supporters he was roughly 300 delegates behind Biden and that "the path toward victory is virtually impossible." Biden went on to secure the nomination and win the general election. Whether Sanders would have won under different circumstances (for example, without pandemic disruption or field consolidation) is a counterfactual claim that cannot be verified against the historical record; the documented outcome shows Sanders lost the actual primary decisively enough that he withdrew before voting concluded. The claim is therefore speculative rather than a checkable factual assertion.
